Schooner Colonia-01, 20 June 1896

Larchmont yacht club commodore clarence ashley postley's schooner colonia (designed and built as a sloop in 1893 by herreshoff to be a candidate in the 1893 america's cup) rerigged as a schooner under the supervision of archibald cary smith, who fitted her with a centerboard. She is pictured here in the larchmont yacht club's spring regatta, which she lost in her class to john rogers maxwell's schooner emerald.
