Saint jean é patmos lower middle section: saint john represented writing on the island of patmos. Upper right hand corner: the vision of the lamb with seven horns, seven eyes and the book of the seven seals appears surrounded by twenty five elderly men (in the form of a mandorla). Upper left hand corner: woman surrounded by sunlight and her new-born who being attacked by the seven headed dragon are saved by an angel who lifts the child into the sky. Centre: most likely the four knights of the apocalypse // musee des beaux-arts, valenciennes, france. Date: between circa 1490 and circa 1551.
