A half-length portrait of thomas lane facing to the left, wearing a mauve coat and a white stock. Provenance: by descent to julia lane, mrs henry arthur hoare of wavendon; given to the national trust along with stourhead house, its grounds, and the rest of contents by sir henry hugh arthur hoare, 6th bt (1865 – 1947) in 1946.
