The fortuna (callsign ndvl) was built by jørgen ring andersen (yard no. 54) in svendborg in 1892. She was a three masted schooner. Her owners were a partnership in svendborg led by p. Christensen. Later owners, also in svendborg, included c. V. Petersen and a company led by r. Nielsen. In 1933 she was sold to swedish owners and registered in göteborg.
