Ivan Enchev-Vidyu Bulgarian Folk Crosses 506, 24 April 1916

506. Cross - gravestone [monument], around the cemeteries of the city. Niche. Roughly constructed (1860) of crumbly limestone; four-winged; its lower wing is the longest and is driven without a plinth into the ground. All wings expand outward; their inner lines are arcuate; the three upper wings on their outer walls each have three apples with a diameter of 7 cm; on the lower wing on the side, two vertical growths, cut in the form of ropes, were left during carving. The face of the cross in its upper part is bent, and when it was carved, a strip 1. 5 cm wide was left around it, and inside relief images of the crucifixion of christ, angels and two palm branches. The inscription is slavic, half erased. Dimensions: 150x100x15cm. Sketched on 24. Iv. 191bg. (t. 3, obr. 26. ). Date: 24 April 1916.
