Valentin Ruths Boat House at Hamburg, Valentin Ruths, circa 1850

The "baumhaus" was the customs building and exchange for the hamburg harbour. Built 1662 by hans hamelau it included the office of the harbourmaster, a concert hall and restaurant. It was demolished in 1857. Date: circa 1850.
