Pedro José Pidal, Dióscoro Puebla, 1877

Portrait of pedro josé pidal (1799-1865), who was the first marquis of pidal and viscount of villaviciosa. He was also a politician, medievalist, historian, literary critic and diplomat, as well as a minister of the crown, senator, ambassador in rome, director of the royal academy of history and academic of the royal spanish academy, benefactor of the royal site of covadonga and knight of the order of the golden fleece.
