This small oil on canvas depicts washerwomen at the water's edge, more precisely the touques. Eugène boudin inserts his figures at the bottom right in a normandy landscape where he gives the sky half of his support. On the horizon we can see the outline of a port as well as ships on the right. The water occupies the lower left part. The painter is interested in the atmosphere, the cloudy sky.
