Several miles southeast of canyon diablo is a remarkable place called meteorite mountain, where it is supposed that a colossal sky wanderer once fell. The creater cavity marking the crash into the earth is a mile wide and over 700 feet deep. Large fragments of meteoric stone containing small diamonds have been found near by. Unknown date
