Lea hall, at lea, near gainsborough, in lincolnshire. (letterpress). Built in the early 17th century, extensive alterations were made in 1857 for the naturalist sir charles anderson, bart (1804–1891). The hall later fell into disrepair, and the final parts were demolished in 1973. All that survives is the former butler's pantry, now the office for lea park, and the former lodge house, which since 1951 has been used as lea methodist church. Date: 1866.
