Portrait of jose antonio gutiérrez gutiérrez drawn by agustina gutiérrez salazar, painter and draftsman. He was born in 1851 in san fernando, chile. He died in santiago in september 1886. Considered the first woman to enter the academy of painting in chile in 1866, when she was fifteen years old. She was a student of alejandro ciccarelli and in 1869, she was appointed drawing teacher by the supreme government, being one of the initiators of the discipline as official teaching.
