Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1942-06-18) letter no. 82 (1942-06-24) next letter (1942-07-03) envelope: front back text 24. Vi. 42 [braunschweig] my dear mum! i received your lovely package today with great joy and gratitude. Unfortunately i didn’t get any of your lovely home-picked and home-baked cakes. It was all mouldy. But don’t worry, i was still very happy and thank you very much. The cigarettes were particularly useful. If you send anything else, please only cigarettes, it’s a shame about the other things. You don’t need to be afraid, i’ll starve - [not here. ]. Date: 24 June 1942.
