Illustration on p. 484 of the 1882 book "gamla stockholm" (in swedish), showing the wooden observation tower at ersta on södermalm commonly called "the toothpick". Erected in 1827 to permit visitors to get a better view of the city, it was 48 feet tall and contained a spiral staircase. It was taken down in the 1870's when it had become too dangerous to use. Date: 1882.
