The portrait of anna maria luisa de' medici, electress palatine, daughter of cosimo iii de' medici, grand duke of tuscany, is part of the so-called "serie aulica" (or "of the most serene princes"), a collection of portraits of the most important members of the house of medici. The work entered into the uffizi gallery on 10 september 1726. The artist is not known, but the portrait planning and modus operandi have been recognized strictly close to that one of violante beatrice of bavaria, anna maria luisa's sister-in-law, for which the name of the painter giovanni gaetano gabbiani is documented. It seems that we should attribute him all the last portraits of the "serie aulica", similar in execution. The attribution of anna maria luisa's portrait to gabbiani is corroborated by the fact that the princess herself commissioned to the painter a copy of this painting (payment receipt of 14 february 1743). Object Type: painting. Date: 1726. Dimensions: height: 143 cm (56.2 in); width: 118 cm (46.4 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Collection: Uffizi Gallery.
