Hoisted on a pedestal, the merchant holds a rosary and opens the shutters of a triptych with a pietà in the center. A woman buys a rosary from the man in the top hat. A multitude of rosaries are placed on the stall. A dog sits at the feet of the fish seller. A veteran with a leg amputated and equipped with a crutch stands near the group. A nanny is visible near the fountain in the background.
