Portrait of king charles iii of spain (1716-1788). This work, which was painted by andrés de la calleja, is a copy of the portrait of the same monarch made by anton raphael mengs and kept in the prado museum. This copy was donated to the royal academy of fine arts of san fernando by its author in 1777, and king charles iii appears standing, covered in armor, with a red sash at his waist and with a flare in his right hand. And he also wears the collars of the order of the golden fleece, the order of the holy spirit and the order of saint jannaro, which was created by charles iii himself at the beginning of his reign in naples.
