Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 [[:|previous letter]] () letter no. Empty (1943-04-05) [[:|next letter]] () envelope: front: empty back: empty text [i shall probably have to marry a russian “matka” because by the time we get out of] russia we will be too old for that. Well, hopefully things will change! i was particularly pleased by the joy of my comrades here when i got back. A platoon leader wanted to take me on as a messenger straight away, but i went back to my “old group”! how are you now? are you healthy? so the 200 rm arrived. What else is new in “vienna”? just stay healthy and don’t worry, i’ll get through it and everything will be fine! many heartfelt greetings and kisses, your hansl. It is now 9:00 am and i will be on patrol at 12:30 am! please send paper and envelopes! and the thermometer too! Date: 5 April 1943.
