Early view of the brisbane river and docks, ca. 1895 brisbane is the capital of queensland and a thriving seaport, situated on the river brisbane, twenty-five miles from the sea. It has many handsome buildings, including the houses of legislature and two cathedrals, also public parks and beautiful botanical gardens.
