Early view of the brisbane river and docks, ca. 1895
brisbane is the capital of queensland and a thriving seaport, situated on the river brisbane, twenty-five miles from the sea. It has many handsome buildings, including the houses of legislature and two cathedrals, also public parks and beautiful botanical gardens. There are extensive wharves on both sides of the river and the picture gives a good view of this part of the city. (description supplied with postcard). Date: circa 1895.
