Serov v. A. Portrait of elizaveta alekseevna krasilshchikova. 1906. 223x100. F. A. Kovalenko krasnodar regional art museum zh-253 the portrait of elizaveta alekseevna krasilshchikova is not one of the works that has attracted the close attention of researchers. It was last exhibited in moscow in 1914 at the posthumous exhibition of valentin aleksandrovich serov. For several years it was in a private collection of the heirs, from where it ended up in the state museum of fine arts, and in 1925 it was transferred to the collection of the a. V. Lunacharsky krasnodar regional art museum. The artistic merits of the portrait can only be judged by rare reproductions. It naturally fits into the circle of serov’s late works, united by new artistic goals, and is of undoubted interest to researchers of the master’s work. Elizaveta alekseyevna krasilshchikova (1879 -1959) - a representative of a wealthy moscow merchant family, who owned the cotton manufactory "partnership of anna krasilshchikova with sons" in the kostroma province, inherited a huge fortune after the death of her husband. She was a willful, domineering person, but enjoyed great success in society. Such a model was the best fit for creating a secular ceremonial portrait. The portrait of e. A. Krasilshchikova is one of serov's largest commissioned works. The format and the very position of the model resemble the famous portraits of m. A. Morozov, f. I. Shalyapin, m. N. Ermolova. The figure of krasilshchikova is given in full-length close-up. Particular attention is paid to the pose and gesture. The interpretation of the image reveals the model's claim to secularity, the aplomb of the europeanized moscow merchants of the early 20th century. The artist was apparently well-disposed towards the model, emphasizing her external attractiveness, femininity and charm in the portrait. Solving a large pictorial problem, serov depicts a specific character. "portrait of e. A. Krasilshchikova" is one of the few works by v. A. Serov painted in this genre using pastel technique. With a matte-velvety pollen, he conveys both the living colors of the face, and the weightless gauze of the dress, and the piercing sparkles of diamonds, and the depth of the black spot of the shawl. The surface of the canvas seems to be woven from pearl-gray, pink, greenish, golden, white and black threads of different textures. Using shades of exquisite tones, serov created the richest color range of the portrait. Www. Art-catalog. Ru. Date: 1906.
