My dearest mother! today is your special day and i was thinking of you all day today. How wonderful it would have been if i could have really been with you on those two days! unfortunately it cannot be, but our hearts and thoughts have met like that. Now i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful birthday present. How wonderful was the cake, the tart and the bakery! what did you have to save up for again! my comrades were really excited about the “viennese cake”, yes my mother can do something! they should come to the peacetime first.
