"Maria Theresa of Austria", Martin van Meytens

So-called portrait of maria theresa of austria (1717-1780), but is probably a depiction of countess palatine maria franziska of sulzbach (1724-1794). Identification proposed by user ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with some portraits of franziska of sulzbach (see images below) and the lack of physical resemblance of the sitter of this portrait to other representations of maria theresa. Object Type: painting. Date: mid 18th century (the approach is based on the sitter's clothing and hairstyle). Dimensions: height: 86 cm (33.8 in); width: 66 cm (25.9 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Collection: Unidentified location. Attributed to Meytens - Portrait of a Princess, misidentified with Maria Theresa of Austria
