Scene from the kabuki play 'kotoba no hana momiji no sakari', showing the actors ichimura uzaemon xii as asa-maru, son of tadakiyo, standing and wearing a white gown covered by calligraphy (left), bando shuka, as hakuyu, wife of tadakiyo, reclining wearing a floral patterned gown holding a buddhist image emitting rays across all three panels (centre), and nakamura utaemon iv as katsushige standing with a hoe behind his back (right). Date: 1849 8th lunar month.
