A battleship, probably the 'st vincent', fitting out at at portsmouth, about 1910
this drawing shows one of the 'st vincent'-class battleships, of which the others were 'collingwood' and 'vanguard', at the middle slip jetty, portsmouth, with no. 5 slip on the left and the semaphore tower on the right. The very plain rigging suggests that this is the 'st vincent' nearing the final stages of fitting out, about april-may 1910. She had been launched from no. 5 slip on 10 september 1908. Date: circa 1910. Dimensions: 254 mm x 356 mm. Collection: Fine art.
