Albert edelfelt. Late 1890s (?) aurora karamzin in old age. Pencil drawing. The helsinki city museum purchased the hakasalmi villa, its first exhibiting space, from aurora karamzin. The villa still functions as one of the museum's exhibition buildings today. Twice widowed, aurora stjervall was finnish by birth, was partly raised in st. She received a large inheritance from her first husband paul demidov, part of which was used for charitable ends after she moved back to helsinki in 1875. She was involved in helping the poor, looking after children and in popular education. Date: Late 1890s?.
