This composition is based on a picture by francis swaine ward (1736-1794) and depicts a the tomb of a muslim holy man at anupshahr, uttar pradesh. The obelisk to the left would have acted as a lamp stand. Within the walls is a tank for the purpose of bathing before entering the mosque. The trees depicted are tamarind trees.
