Below it is a small allegorical vignette of an eagle with a shield, holding a streamer with the words "state sovereignty" and "national union. " beyond the eagle are a locomotive and train (left) and a steamboat (right). Holzer ("the lincoln image") reproduces another, larger campaign portrait of lincoln issued by mendel in june 1860.
