Pilate, a beared man in oriental dress, with a cloak slung over his left shoulder, sitting with right hand raised, looking to right, showing jesus to the people, standing with a soldier and another man behind to left, after the scourging and dressed in purple and a crown of thorns, with a servant holding a basin and pitcher to pilate's left, two women to his right, view of a city through a broad round arched bridge across a street behind to right.
