Jeune marocaine assise, Victor Eeckhout, Entre 1866 et 1879

Painting entitled "young moroccan woman seated" by the belgian painter victor eeckhout (1821–1879). The little girl wears a caftan over a sadriya which is a sleeveless embroidered piece, which is worn on the chest. The sadriyas of tangier and tetouan have the particularity of being embroidered with embroidery called "khanjar" which is found in particular on the caftans of tangier and tetouan. This clothing heritage constitutes an ancestral regional particularity of the caftans of northern morocco. Date: Entre 1866 et 1879.
