Characters: two russian soldiers watch a one-man band: the musician plays the harp, pan flute, tambourine, cymbals and bells. He is accompanied by a singer holding a sheet of music. A man is sitting on the ground behind the artists. A car passes behind the singer. Two other soldiers, to the right of this group, observe a bird locked in a glass cage and some fish. A young girl from behind, holding a young boy by the arm, seems to point to a cage containing a bird, near which dishes are placed. A man in the background carries a heavy load on his back. At the end of march 1814, paris capitulated, not without a fight, to the coalition forces.
