This animal sculptor was struck down by a serious eye condition at a very young age, but he continued to model clay and exhibit at the salon. According to stanislas lami, antoine-louis barye (1795-1875), his teacher, retouched all his works, which are signed "vidal aveugle". Date: 1863. Medium: bronze.
