The central figures are gaius silius dressed in military fatigues with theater boots and a wine glass in his hand and messalina, a beautiful shapely young woman with bare breasts who drags gaius from a bed. On the bed on the left is a woman with a hat on her right foot who is touching the inside of gaius' thigh with her right hand. Two men are standing on the table looking out the window. A fourth man in the foreground falls drunkenly from his chair while trying to draw his sword. Next to him stands a woman with a lute. In the left foreground a large wine cooler with a vine.
