This print was originally part of liber no. 22 of the atlas of rome, from the hinloopen collection. This album contained a number of print series based on well-known seventeenth-century fresco series. In 1709, schijnvoet reordered the collection at the request of the mayors of amsterdam. The prints from liber 22 ended up in schijnvoet book no. 10. The last dated series in the album is dated 1691. The album must therefore have been bound after this date. The band broke up during the rijksakademie period. The margins of the prints were often drastically cut off when stored in the state print cabinet. The prints of a number of series had been cut back to fit into the album. (see: waals, jan van der. The print treasure of michiel hinloopen.
