The painting from about 1340 is the work of florentine artist maso di banco, beside taddeo gaddi the most talented pupil of giotto. Tempera on wood with arched top, 29 1/4 x 16 in. (74. 3 x 40. 6 cm). The panel came from berlin in 1943 where it belonged to other parts of a polyptych, two of the five parts were destroyed due to the war.
