It is now evening; the visit is already over. I am sitting in the russian hut by a candle and writing to my dear mum. Otherwise i spend the whole day reading everything i can get my hands on. I shall probably be returning to my company soon; my comrades will be happy. Otherwise there is not much new; a few days ago a russian plane was shot down near us. Now my dear mum, all the best and lots of kisses from your hansl. Forgive the [that ???] paper; i didn't have any other! Date: 22 March 1943.
