Dehodencq a. - ink, wash - study for the family of the duke of montpensier in the gardens of san telmo - 21x16. 2cm; this drawing was reproduced full page in the reference work by gabriel séailles, then identified as belonging in 1910 to the author's illustrious collection. In 1921, following the purchase by the philanthropist frédéric schneider of a painting by dehodencq belonging to g. Séailles, the latter offered him this drawing. The traces of folds in the drawing obviously predate this sending, since we can already see them in the reproduction of the book. The drawing is preparatory to the painting “portrait of the family of the duke of montpensier in the garden of san telmo”, no. 57 of the séailles catalogue, for which there is a preparatory painting, no. 58 of the catalogue.
