Lewis Carroll - Henry Holiday - Hunting of the Snark - Plate 3, Henry Holiday

Third of henry holiday's original ilustrations to "the hunting of the snark" by lewis carroll. This illustrates the end section of fit the first: the landing. The butcher has said he can only butcher beavers, and so: yet still, ever after that sorrowful day,     whenever the butcher was by, the beaver kept looking the opposite way,     and appeared unaccountably shy. Date: Originally 1876, this edition 1931..
