Historical commentary: identification of author and place given by the destailleur catalog, still accepted in the 1932 guide. Questioned by max terrier. We thought of lallemand because of the perspective, the treatment of the wash and the type of characters that he seems to have adopted in his late paintings. Instead, go towards jacques bertaux or grégoire, or even norblin. (see inventory sheet).
