of the inscriptions which appear on the back of the drawing, the number "e 8721" is the entry number of a drawing by grolleau: "les moulins de montmartre en 1843", mentioned in the register of entries at the carnavalet museum on the date of november 1917; apart from the inventory number of grolleau's drawing sheet gives the museum inventory number: "d. 3889". In the carnavalet museum drawing inventory book, "e 8721 d 23" gives the ancient provenance of card03758 and that of grolleau's drawing.
