On the day of the discovery of his incorrupt remains, the novgorodians brought to his coffin an iron lamp kept in the sacristy, with a circular cut-out inscription: the candle of novgorod the great for all orthodox christians, placed in honor of the new miracle worker nikita in the summer of 1830, on april 1, under archbishop piment.
