Seat of the electoral district court of cling, bishopric of salzburg, set on uneven land, it probably borrowed its name from the st. Stephen's church in the village, and thus named itself, belongs to schonstött, is an old building in the form of a longhouse, and its originator is unknown; hannß georg prey, known councilor and renntmaiser of burgkhausen, bought it from christophen tachsperger, and left it to his son, the current owner, johann ruedolph, as an inheritance, by whom it is maintained rurally, but not inhabited.
