Ivan Enchev-Vidyu Bulgarian Folk Crosses 236, 21 June 1917

236. Candlestick with a cross around the church "st. Peter and pavel" in the town of svishtov. It is made of soft iron. The cross is isosceles with slightly outwardly expanding wings, in the corners of which there is an angular ray. From the upper wing comes a short column, on it a discus with a cylinder for candles; from the lower wing comes the lower column, which is crossed in the middle with a hollow globe of sticks and below with a polygonal apple, and at the bottom ends with the dimensions are indicated in the sketch. We can confidently attribute this candlestick to the ones in northern bulgaria, when it was used in samokov. Dimensions: 15. 5cmx10cmx2. 5mm. Sketched on 21. Vi. 1917. 52. ). Date: 21 June 1917.
