This colorfully fresh depiction of the archipelago with a nude model in the open air was done at sandhamn during zorn's summer sailing with the cutter mejt in 1914. As so often, zorn's masterful painting is based on the artist's extraordinary ability to let water, rocks and the naked female body reflect the sunlight in a snapshot where the model, without feeling ashamed, has taken possession of nature and the viewer senses the temperature changes in the landscape, the light, the warm breeze and the warmth of the rock outcrops. Object Type: painting. Date: 1914. Place of creation: Sandhamn, Sweden. Dimensions: height: 100 cm (39.3 in); width: 64 cm (25.1 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Collection: Private collection.
