Ambrogio was a model, working in rome, and zahrtmann and other danish painters used him in their paintings. When summer was approaching he recommended that zahrtmann should move to civita d'antino, his birthplace in abruzzo. There, the air would be clean and the people friendly. Zahrtmann followed his advice in 1883, painted ambrogio and wrote about it in the danish magazine tilskueren in 1908. Object Type: painting. Date: 1883.
