La Jeune Malade, Francisco Goya

La jeune malade (the sick girl) at the château de villandry. The description tag reads (translated): la jeune malade, school of francisco de goya, fuendetodos, 1746 – bordeaux, 1828. Goya's students painted sickness with an extreme realism. A white, cold figure springs from a dark background. No other element disrupts the simplicity of the composition. The alienated expression of this woman is the principal subject of this picture. Unknown date Collection: Château de Villandry.
