From the auction notes: henry madsen (1881–1921) was the son of henriette and karl madsen and great-grandfather of the current owner. Henry madsen was egyptologist and journalist, and he often went to skagen in the years after 1900. Engel saxild and her twin sister ella were friends with helga ancher.
