The triumph of chastity over love, (love disarmed and bound), from petrarch's trionfi. The battle is shown left-background; the foreground shows cupid bound, his weapons broken, and his wing-feathers being torn off; the triumphal display of cupid, his wings denuded, is shown right-background, passing behind the ermine banner of chastity.
