James wolfe uses a spyglass to look into the toilets of an outhouse, in search of spies. This 1759 cartoon was drawn by george townshend, who served under wolfe and wanted to mock him. Wolfe sought to have townshend punished, but died in battle before this could occur. Date: 1759.
