Red chalk drawing of cora pearl. She was born emma elizabeth (eliza) crouch, in plymouth, england, on 17 december 1836. She was baptized at st. Andrew's church in plymouth on 27 december 1837 along with her sister hannah lydia crouch. Cora pearl was a famous courtesan during the second empire period and the beginning of the french third republic. She died in paris, 16th arrondissement, in france, on 8 july 1886.
