Pluto, Hendrik Goltzius, between 1588 and 1590

Pluto. Clair-obscur woodcut from three plates in black, grey and light grey, in an oval. 34. 2 x 25. 8 cm. Around 1588-90. B. 233, hirschmann 369, hollstein 369, bialler 29 a (of c). Partially with a fine margin around the framing line, otherwise cut to this. Carefully repaired tear that extends from the edge to the left ankle, a few small repairs in the marginal areas, insignificant stains on the reverse, otherwise a very well preserved copy. Date: between 1588 and 1590. Dimensions: height: 34.2 cm (13.4 in); width: 25.8 cm (10.1 in). Medium: woodcut print. 5137 bassenge goltzius
