Plate 4 in architecture françoise, tome 3, livre 5, chapitre 9 (plates 1–4 follow p. 44 of the 1904 reimpression). Figure 1: elevation of the palais-royal on the rue st. Honoré. Figure 2: elevations of the west wings of the entrance court (b) and garden-side court (e), cross sections of the entrance gate (a), the principal corps-de-logis (d), and the garden wall (f), taken at line d,e shown in the plans of plate 2 and plate 3; elevation of the east facade of the north end of the wing (g) located further west on the rue de richelieu. The main floor (piano nobile) of this westernmost wing (g) contained the grande galerie painted by antoine coypel (see plate 3). All of the structures shown in this plate have since been destroyed or demolished and replaced with new designs. For the original french text discussing this plate, see p. 44 of tome 3 (at gallica).
